Learn about our dive sites

Us

Fun Divers is a thriving and vibrating dive school offering dive courses and fun dives in a safe and relaxed manner. Our instructors are highly qualified to teach every course level including dive master and instructor training courses.

Amed

During the past 20 years, this sleepy fishing village has gone through major changes and developed into a thriving dive community. Along the coast, there are about a dozen dive sites with healthy corals and plentiful marine life.

Devotion

We are also devoted to nature preservation, helping the young local people get into the diving industry and increasing their environmental awareness.

Dive Sites

Amed Jemeluk

Beach entry

This is our "house reef". Mild drift dive with beautiful coral reef and steep drop off and wall, big variety of marine life and relaxing and easy dive. Also an excellent location for night dive.

Pyramid and the wall

Boat entry

Drift dive starts at eel garden then drift with mild to medium current. Big sponges and beautiful gorgonians along the way, and all sorts of mysterious marine lives.

Japanese Ship Wreck

Beach or boat entry

The wreck is a small boat sitting in shallow water but the reef behind contains a fantastic mix of hard and soft coral and millions of small brightly colored fish. Current might be strong.

Gili Selang

Boat entry

Very healthy coral garden, mostly strong current. Good chance to see some big marine life here. Only for the really experienced divers.

U.S.A.T Liberty Wreck

Beach entry

Probably the easiest big wreck to dive in the world, only 40 meters from the shore. This is also a great place to do a night dive.

Monkey Reef

  • How do I get to Amed from the airport?

You can book a car to pick you up and the journey takes 2.5 hours. The price is 450.000Rp (30 Euros) for 1-4 people. Or if you feel more adventurous and have more time to explore the island, you can rent a scooter in the south and ride to us! The road is a bit of narrow and busy, but the second half is scenic and rewarding. Contact us to book a pick up service.

  • How can I pay and do I have to bring much cash?

We accept Visa/Mastercard, Union Pay and almost any foreign currency. There are a few ATM/cash point machines on Amed. Occasionally none of them work so you can change money at the local money changers and even get cash on credit cards but the exchange rates will not be in your favour and commissions will be charged.

  • Can we go diving if we are travelling with young kids?

Yes. We have contacts with a few reliable baby sitters. The locals are also very friendly and always keep an eye out, so finding a babysitter or nanny is never a problem.

  • Are there hawkers on the beach?

No, the aggressive hawkers you may have bad experiences with in south Bali don't exist here.

  • What else can I do other than diving?

Apart from the tourist attractions like temples and waterfalls, and the usual beach activities like sunbathing and snorkeling, you can go fishing, water skiing, yoga classes, free diving courses. There are also a few reggie bars for live music at night.
